Thyroxine sodium is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone T4. It is also called levothyroxine. After absorption, the body converts T4 to triiodothyronine, or T3, which takes part in regulating metabolism. Two brand names
Eltroxin is the GlaxoSmithKline name. Thyronorm is the Abbott name. At the same microgram, both are thyroxine sodium. They remain separate listings because a brand on a prescription is part of the record a clinic follows, including later blood tests.

Eltroxin is listed at 25, 50, 75, 88 and 100 mcg. Thyronorm is listed at 25, 50, 75, 100 and 112 mcg. Each figure is its own tablet. 88 mcg exists on Eltroxin. 112 mcg exists on Thyronorm. A 100 mcg tablet is a different listing from either of those.
The lower strengths, including 25 mcg, are often the ones used when treatment starts or when a clinic is adjusting a dose. The catalog does not treat a pack size as a dose.
